Seniors & Colts Draw Revised

First game for 2009 for Hawks Colts and Senior Teams has now changed to Saturday, 31st December 2009., due to NZ U19's team playing Australia and NZGOA officials attending this game.

Please refer to schedule for more information and draw changes. Trainings will commence on Tuesday 27th & Thursday 29th January or unless otherwise advised from your coaches.

The Hawks seniors coming off a big lesson the previous week from the Wildcats showing them what it means to turn up to practice and learn your plays, obviously had a better week at training, as the Hawks looked much more organised and confident up against the South Auckland Raiders right from the start.
With the Hawks still recovering from last weeks loss and the Spartans coming to Hamilton on the back of a win against the Tamaki Lightning, the opposition were confident they could cause the upset of the round and beat the Hawks on their home turf.
With both teams known for their different attacking styles, solid defence and a large number of New Zealand U19's players on show, the match between the Hawks Colts and Peninsula Panthers was always going to be a hard fought game.
After a great win the previous week against the North Harbour Pride, where a good attendance at practice made a difference to the team, unfortunately the opposite happened the week after, whether it was due to injuries, work commitments or just great plays from the Wildcats, the Hawks just did not look like the same team the previous week.
